Once you have been to the notary to buy your property there is still plenty to be done
- open a bank acct with your mortgage bank. This will normally have been done before you buy as you need somewhere to transfer the UK funds to and somewhere to pay your mortgage through
- get the electric connected in your name
- water
- gas
- register your house with the local council
- set up a dd to pay the house taxes and rubbish collection automatically
- find a management company for cleaning, laundry and pool cleaning
- get a satellite tv system SKY covers most of Europe but you still need to order the second box and subscription at your uk address they won't deal with foreign addresses
- arrange shipping of any personal effects or furniture you need in your new house
- Make a folder to leave for guests with good restaurants, places of interest etc
